Your privacy

Privacy Policy

How AMERICANCONFERENCE.CO handles data and cookies, the third parties involved, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run an independent sports site.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the website AMERICANCONFERENCE.CO. We are an independent portal covering American Conference college football and are not affiliated with the American Conference Conference, the NCAA, any school, any broadcaster or any sportsbook. For who we are, see about us. To reach a person, use contact.

What we collect

All coverage is open with no account. We collect the following:

  • Account details. If you create a free account, we store your email address, a display name, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google instead, Google shares your email address and name with us to create or find your account, and no password is stored. We use these to sign you in and to attribute your comments and picks to you.
  • Things you post. Comments, predictions and picks you submit are stored with your account so they can appear on the site and be scored.
  • Server and CDN logs. Our hosting provider and CDN record standard request data. IP address, user agent, referring page and timestamp. To serve pages, prevent abuse and diagnose faults.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to record pages viewed and basic performance (Core Web Vitals) in aggregate, to help us improve the site. This is statistical measurement and is not used to build a profile of you by name.
  • Things you send us. If you email the desk, we receive your message and address to reply and keep a record of corrections.
  • Preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored locally in your browser (local storage) and never leaves your device. When you are signed in, a session cookie keeps you logged in.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential storage keeps the site working. Remembering your theme, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in after you log in. Analytics and, where enabled, advertising partners may set their own cookies or identifiers to measure audience and, in the case of advertising, to show and cap ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Essential functions will still work, though you may need to sign in again.

Third parties

  • CollegeFootballData (via the CFB Data Hub) supplies schedules, scores, standings and stats. This is fetched to build the site and does not track you.
  • Google Sign-In lets you log in with your Google account. When you use it, Google shares your email address and name with us and processes the sign-in under Google's own privacy policy. It is optional. You can always use an email and password instead.
  • Google Analytics 4 processes aggregate usage under Google's privacy terms to give us audience and performance measurement.
  • Advertising and affiliate partners may serve ads or set affiliate cookies. Ad-industry choices are available at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.

We do not control third-party sites you reach through our links. Their privacy practices are their own.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. If you have an account, you can ask us to delete it and the personal data tied to it at any time. To make a request, email [email protected] from your account address and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Retention and security

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active, and is deleted when you close it. Logs are retained only as long as our host needs them for security and diagnostics. Email is kept as long as needed to handle your query and any resulting corrections. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Children

AMERICANCONFERENCE.CO is a general-audience sports site and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Betting and odds content is intended for adults 21+.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Questions about privacy go to [email protected]. See also our Terms of Use and Editorial & Corrections Policy.
